Kayaking in Päijänne National Park
Sandy beaches and lagoons of Kelvenne island
Päijänne National Park kayaking tour is designed for exploring one of the biggest lakes in Finland. We start kayaking from Padasjoki Harbor and head on to Kelvenne - beloved summer destination for Finnish boaters and other outdoor enthusiasts.
On the tour we aim to circle around Kelvenne and spend one night at one of the campsites. Kelvenne is a long island known for its many beaches, steep hill sides and beautiful pine forests.
The tour is suitable for people with previous kayaking experience
We paddle at a relaxed pace and over the two days we cover a total distance of about 25-35 kilometres. You should be able to paddle at a relaxed pace for about 20 kilometres during the day.
Prior experience on camping and outdoors is also helpful. We sleep in tents and cook personal meals with outdoor stoves.
The tour requires the completion of a beginner's course in kayaking.
The needed camping gear can be rented from Natura Viva
